Years in the Trade: 2.5

Specialty / fave work: Fitoff

Tool you can’t live without: Voltstick

Weekend vibe: Getting out and about

Fun fact: Grew up in PNG for the first half of his life

Best thing about working with the Edgecliff crew: “The best crew to learn from, and there’s always a great variety of work.”

With 2.5 years in the trade, Riley has quickly built a reputation for his high standards, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn. His favourite part of the job is fit off, where attention to detail really shines.

On site, Riley is known for consistently delivering quality work and maintaining a positive, can-do attitude. His must-have tool is a voltstick — simple, reliable, and always in his pocket. The biggest pet peeve? Leaving a tool up in the roof and having to climb back to find it.

Since joining Edgecliff Electrical, Riley has embraced the team’s strong work ethic and high standards, which have helped shape him into the electrician he is today. If he wasn’t in the electrical trade, he reckons he’d be working another trade, maybe as a boilermaker.

On weekends you’ll find him out with mates, camping, or working on his car. His drive between jobs is backed by a mix of Red Hot Chili Peppers and some rap — the perfect combo. A fun fact about Riley: he almost became a concreter before choosing the electrical path.

What he loves most about Edgecliff Electrical is the crew , a team he’s proud to learn from, work with, and enjoy every day on the job.

Specialty / favourite work: A successful fault find

Tool I can’t live without: VESSEL screwdriver

Weekend vibe: Golf

Fun fact: Loves fishing… but can’t catch a fish to save his life

Best part about the Edgecliff crew: “The young blokes keep me hip.”

With 6 years in the trade, Jordan “Bullo” is a seasoned electrician who thrives on completing jobs to a high standard and seeing the satisfaction on a client’s face. His favourite part of the job is finishing a project, keeping a clean and tidy work site, and having a good chat with clients along the way.

On site, Jordan is known for his expertise in fault finding, and his must-have tool is his reliable VESSEL screwdriver. His biggest work pet peeve? Apprentices on their phones — he values focus and attention to detail.

Since joining Edgecliff Electrical, Jordan has learned the importance of teamwork and communication, and he values being part of a crew where he feels respected and appreciated. If he weren’t an electrician, he imagines he’d be a farmer, enjoying life working the land.

Outside of work, Jordan enjoys family days at the beach, playing golf, and listening to country music or a good podcast while on the drive between jobs. A fun fact about him: he loves baking bread.

Andrew Ridings

Years in the trade: 7 years

Specialty / favourite work: New builds & renovations

Tool I can’t live without: Coffee → then my 12V impact driver

Weekend vibe: Kids’ sports, golf & house renos

Fun fact: I’ve lived in 3 different states in the last 3 years

Best part about the Edgecliff crew: “Enjoying strong working relationships and helping create a positive, enjoyable workplace

With 7 years in the electrical trade, Andrew brings a strong mix of technical skill, customer focus, and passion to every project. His favourite part of the job is working on new builds and completing major renovations, where he can help bring a client’s vision to life.

Andrew’s standout strength on site is his ability to collaborate closely with customers, incorporating their plans and ideas into the final product. His essential tool is his 12V impact driver — reliable, efficient, and always within reach. His biggest work pet peeve? Crooked power points and light switches — precision matters.

Since joining Edgecliff Electrical, Andrew has learned that being a great electrician is about more than just twisting wires together. It’s about delivering high-quality workmanship, working efficiently, and providing exceptional customer service.

If he weren’t an electrician, Andrew imagines two paths: in his dreams, driving in Formula 1; in reality, becoming a home loan broker.

On weekends, Andrew enjoys playing golf and spending time at the beach with his family. For the drive between jobs, he’s tuned into Real Dictators and WWII biographies. A fun fact: he’s lived in three different states over the past three years.

Tom

Best thing about working with the Edgecliff crew: “Good morale and a good crew.”

Darcy Hayes

Electrical Apprentice

Years in the trade: 6 months

Specialty / favourite work: Crawling through roofs & fishing cables out of walls

Tool I can’t live without: Dustpan & brush + impact driver

Weekend vibe: Camping, fishing & 4×4 adventures

Fun fact: If he were “smart enough,” he reckons he’d be a marine biologist

Best part about the Edgecliff crew: “Super inclusive team that always lets him give things a go — even CNW feels like part of the crew

With 6 months in the trade, Darcy is quickly proving himself to be a valuable part of the Edgecliff Electrical team. He’s already had the opportunity to work across a variety of electrical tasks, giving him a solid foundation and a growing enthusiasm for the industry’s diversity.

On site, Darcy is known for tackling the jobs no one else wants — especially crawling through roofs or reaching into walls to pull cable. His must-have tools are simple but essential: a dustpan and brush, an impact driver, and (when things get messy) a good vacuum and broom.

Darcy’s biggest work pet peeve is when people aren’t friendly to customers — he values good communication and believes every interaction should leave a positive impression. Since joining Edgecliff Electrical, he’s learned just how broad and varied electrical work can be, and he’s eager to continue building his skills.

If he weren’t an electrician, and if he were smart enough, Darcy jokes he’d be a marine biologist — a nod to his love for the outdoors. Off the clock, you’ll find him camping, fishing, or heading out for some 4×4 adventures. His music of choice? Lady Gaga.

What Darcy loves most about being part of the Edgecliff team is how inclusive and supportive everyone is — always encouraging him to give things a go and learn through experience. Even the team at CNW feels like part of the crew.
